DESCRIPTION: APW - Rockford, Grade 537, 21J, 16S, gold-filled OF original case with locomotive scene to rear, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, two-tone gilt and nickel damascene, s#670055. A very rare watch, the Grade 537 was produced in a single run of only 100 made and features an attractive fancy two-tone damascene pattern which is unique to this grade.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent two-tone color, bright plates with few scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, center jewel is an evident replacement with a smaller setting set within the larger setting within the plate, some small nicks to plate surface around center jewel area, some marks and small nicks to area around balance jewel setting, some fine scratches to larger winding wheel, mild oxide to winding wheels, spot of oxide to regulator tip; dial with scattered faint hls, tiny fracture at 11, tiny fracture at 1, some light hand rub within seconds-register; fine hands; case shows very light wear, two tiny nicks to band at 11, no dents, slightly reduced engraving detail; tight slightly brassy bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
